How long have you owned your Swift, and what has your experience been like?
4years of owning my previous Swift Sport. It was remarkable, been given the opportunity to experience to go on racetracks and skidpans with same-like cars. This also gave me an opportunity to learn more about my car.
What cars have you previously owned?
Daihatsu Sirion 1.5 Sport and Suzuki Swift Sport
What made you choose the Suzuki Swift? And What other cars did you consider?
I’ve looked at similar hatchbacks i.e. VW Polo, Kia Rio, Hyundai I20 etc. Realized that the Swift Sport was powerful, had more features and was definitely better looking.
What do you love most about your Swift?
The responsiveness & road handling
If you could describe your Swift in three words, what would they be?
Nippy, stylish, reliable
Performance & Driving Experience
How does your Swift handle sharp corners, winding roads, and straight lines?
Surprisingly well and I was impressed, especially when following certain members on the road that wants to have fun.
What modifications have you made to your Swift? How have these mods affected the driving experience?
Not anything major. I have replaced my 16inch standard rims with the 17inch OEM rims, and I’ve added a bonnet guard. No change in my driving experience and less chip marks on the bonnet.
Have you taken your Swift to a track or motorsports event? If so, how did it perform?
Yes, I have taken my car on the racetrack and skidpan. Exceeded my expectations
What’s one feature of the Swift that surprised you the most?
The power output for a 1.6 N/A
How does your Swift compare to other cars you’ve driven?
It’s nippy and at the same time sticking to the road like a magnet.
If you could improve one aspect of your Swift, what would it be?
Heated seats for sure.
Would you recommend the Swift for someone who enjoys spirited driving? Why or why not?
oh definitely. Especially for a person who is adventurous or curious of having fun.
What’s the best road trip or journey you’ve taken with your Swift?
Attending the Suzuki Weekend at the Numbi Hotel and thereafter going to the Kruger National Park.
What’s the most fun or exciting experience you’ve had with your Swift?
Doing the photoshoots at unusual places with the club.

What made you decide to join a car club, and why did you choose Swift Speed?
I discovered the club by accident
How did you find out about the Swift Speed Club?
I was introduced to the club by an old Swift Speed member, and he invited me to join the club after I bought my Swift.
How long have you been a VIP member of Swift Speed?
A full 8 years
What’s the best memory or event you’ve experienced with Swift Speed so far?
There are loads of memories and each one of them are different. The most interesting memory was in 2017. We decided to meet the KZN club at Little Switzerland for lunch and headed back on the same day to Gauteng. This was during winter; this was also for us an opportunity to see the snow at Drakensberg. To our greatest disappointment we only witnessed fog.
How has being part of a Swift Speed enhanced your experience as a Suzuki Swift owner?
Having access to more knowledge about Suzuki cars and exposure to a different segment i.e. bikes.
Do you feel that being in Swift Speed has helped you learn more about your car? If so, in what ways?
Definitely. It gave me exposure to the racetrack & skidpan. You learned how to handle your vehicle on the open road in an emergency situation.
Have the friendships you’ve made within Swift Speed grown beyond just car meets, leading to socialising outside of the club? If so, how has this bond impacted your experience as a member?
I made numerous friends through the club, and some of them are like family. We connected either on same values, morals or interests. We do socialise outside of the club, I might be a different character outside the club.
What advice would you give to someone considering joining a car club for the first time?
Just join, enough said! Just have fun, you will learn about the different Suzuki vehicles and valuable knowledge of the Swift will be shared.
Future Plans & Improvements
Are there any future upgrades or modifications you’d like to make?
Not at all. Currently sold the Swift and driving a Voivo C70 and a Harley Davidson Sportster.
If Suzuki were to improve the Swift, what features or changes would you like to see?
Of course, heated seats. Also having a Hybrid model of the Swift Sport.
Would you consider buying another Swift in the future?
I lean more towards Grand Vitara (Hybrid) or Fronx GLX at the moment.
What advice would you give to someone considering a Swift as their next car?
It is self-explanatory when doing market research if someone is interested in buying a new Swift. The new Swift already comes standard with a lot of features and better price than the competitors, and not even to mention the built quality it offers.
